Gram Stain Kit

The solutions used in Gram staining are:Gram's iodine: A mordant, or dye fixative, that sets the dye into the cells. The iodine's negatively charged molecules link to the positively charged crystal violet. Crystal violet: The primary stain that colors Gram-positive bacteria violet. Gram's decolorizing solution: A ready-to-use solution that decolorizes Gram-negative bacteria. Lugol's solution: Used to stain bacteria in the first step of Gram staining. Safranin O stain: A red-colored counterstain used to stain decolorized Gram-negative cells.
